  • Operating hours (Metro, Trams, and Buses):

    Milan’s public transport, managed by ATM (Azienda Trasporti Milanesi), operates from approximately 5:00 AM to midnight.
    Some night bus lines (“Linee Notturne”) run between midnight and 5:00 AM, ensuring 24-hour coverage.
    Service frequency depends on the line and time of day — metros run every 2–5 minutes during peak hours.


    Number of main lines:

    Milan’s metro network includes 5 lines (M1, M2, M3, M4, M5), connecting key neighborhoods and transport hubs.
    In addition, the city is served by 18 tram lines and over 80 urban and suburban bus routes.
    All services are fully integrated under the STIBM fare system, allowing travel with a single ticket across metro, bus, and tram.


    Key tourist stops:

    • Duomo (M1, M3): Direct access to the Milan Cathedral and Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II.

    • Cadorna (M1, M2): Central station with connections to Malpensa Express trains.

    • Porta Garibaldi (M2, M5): Access to the Porta Nuova business district and regional trains.

    • Brera (tram 1, 2): Artistic district with galleries and historic cafés.

    • CityLife (M5 – Tre Torri): Modern architecture and shopping area.
